It comes after Dean and love interest Davina Rankin enraged fans after ‘cheating’ on their spouses and enjoying steamy secret rendezvous together.

‘Why are you giving him airtime; why was he cast? Was he cast to be the villain and give you drama or was it for love?,’ Nine Honey reports Shelley Horton asked producers on Talking Married this week.
Executive producer Tara McWilliams said she found Dean’s views on relationships ‘interesting’ and ‘controversial’.
‘They’re controversial views. And if everyone had the same kind of view on relationships, it’d be a really boring experiment and a really boring show,’ McWilliams said.

‘I didn’t find him overpowering, I didn’t find him dominating, I didn’t find him intimidating, or any of those things he’s been accused of being.’
She added: ‘But I found his views really controversial, and I thought, that’s going to be interesting.’

The goatee-wearing redhead said his mission statement was to return Australia to the times when women recognised: ‘I’m the man and I’m in charge.’
‘Also want someone that listens to me… and I want to be the alpha male and she needs to respect me as the man.’
