Survival Of The Fittest: The girls turn on Lottie

Survival Of The Fittest’s Lottie James breaks down in tears on Thursday night’s episode of the show, after being accused of not supporting the other girls.

After losing to the boys for the third time, putting them at risk of another vote-off, previews ahead of the show see ‘weak’ Lottie struggle to cope following a confrontation from the other girls about her commitment to the team.

The drama started when fellow contestant Mettisse Campbell had a quiet word with Lottie about the rest of the team’s views towards her.

Sad: Lottie again expresses that she wants to go home after the girls appear to blame her for them being up for the first vote-off

Mettisse said: ‘They do feel a bit disappointed because they said that you weren’t really supporting us when we were doing the challenge.’

‘I was but I’m just not a loud person. I was supporting!’ Lottie responded, before breaking down in tears and confessing she wants to get home.

In the Tree House, Lottie got upset again, saying: ‘I just feel like everyone else is way better than me.’

Georgie Clarke said earlier in the show: ‘She is absolutely not a threat to the boys,’

Jenny West added: ‘We are all here to win and these things need to be spoken about and we need to decide what our strategy is otherwise we’re not going to win.’

Georgia Cole then said: ‘Everyone has got to pull their weight equally. It’s not in her and that’s why she is oblivious.’

‘She’s not got the fire,’ Jenny adds, while Georgie also said: ‘We couldn’t have won it without us but we could have won it without Lottie.’

As the girls do their best to get ahead of the boys and avoid elimination, Mettisse struggles to cope with the childishness of the situation.

She said she feels like she is at school and Georgie tries to take Lottie aside and sort things out.

Earlier on the girls turn the topic of conversation to their male housemates, as they stress who they could choose to leave the lodge.

Jenny is adamant the Boys are going to choose her, saying in the Tree House: ‘If it comes down to the Boys and them voting, I am certainly going to be their number one choice to leave because I’m giving them a run for their money. I’m a threat to them.’

Talking to Ryan Cleary and David Lundy later, she added: ‘I haven’t got anybody in here interested in me. You know how a lot of the girls have got people who fancy them, the guys fancy the girls and people are snogging left, right and centre?

‘I have not got anybody backing my corner on the Boys team who is going to be like ‘Save Jen.’ All I’ve got is my strength in my game.’

Meanwhile Warren Phillips and James Middleton were also discussing Lottie, and whether they will decide to give her the boot.

Warren said: ‘I know she isn’t going to go because I know you boys like seeing me pursue that. She thinks she is the weakest. I think she is.’

James added: ‘Number one, that’s a good thing for us if she is a weak link, it’s unfortunate for the girls.’

Mariam Musa later confessed in the Tree House that she hopes her blossoming relationship with Callum Pardoe will help her keep a place in the lodge, but is still keeping her guard up.

Despite this, the vlogger still manages to catch a cheeky kiss off Tristan Jones as they relax on the day beds, and she later gushes about him in the Tree House.

It seems sparks are flying all over the lodge despite the risk of the vote-off, as Georgia gets close with David and James shared a candid, but slightly awkward encounter with Georgie.

Callum also later confessed that despite fancying Mariam, he would stand by his team should they choose to send her home, and they are having a growing advantage as the opposing team are becoming more and more aware that Lottie is ‘the weakest girl.’

He adds: ‘We all know, even though we couldn’t even have watched what they were doing, we all know Lottie was the weakest. Aren’t they supposed to be a team?’

As the next day dawns in the lodge, the teams are then told they will take part in their next reward challenge ‘Keep Your Head In The Game,’ with two people from each side taking part.

During the deliberation Georgia is confident Lottie should not take part as she ‘struggled near the end of the previous task.’

Lottie objected: ‘I was jumping from pit to pit. I did keep going. I didn’t just give up, I did keep going.

‘It was my first challenge. And I know some of you have failed a challenge already and I’m not going to take it to heart.’

Georgia then puts the matter to rest as they begin deciding who will take part in the task.

The aim of the game is to transfer as much water as they can across an obstacle course and deposit it into their team’s collection bucket. Each contestant will wear a helmet receptacle filled with water and must try not to spill any along the way. The team who manages to empty the most water into their buckets wins.

Mariam and Mettisse will take part in the challenge for the Girls while David and Ryan will represent the Boys, but fans will have to wait and see Thursday’s show to find out who comes out on top.

Fans will also finally discover who has been voted out of the Lodge next, as host Laura Whitmore goes to tell the Boys which three girls received the lowest votes, and thus will be at the mercy of their decision.

Survival of the Fittest continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
