Greg Bird’s wife Becky announces she’s pregnant again

Greg Bird’s wife Becky has announced the couple are expecting their second child.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the former NRL star’s partner revealed that she is 18 weeks pregnant, with the baby expected to arrive in July this year.

The news comes the same week explosive documents were laid bare in court that described Greg as ‘blind’ and an ‘imbecile’ during his alleged involvement in a cocaine ring.

‘Finley would like to let everyone know that her little brother or sister has been baking away,’  Greg Bird’s wife Becky (pictured) announced the couple are expecting their second child

Wearing a black underwear Becky had her stomach exposed in the photo, with the couple’s almost two-year-old daughter Finley kissing her mother’s blossoming baby bump.

‘Finley would like to let everyone know that her little brother or sister has been baking away and will be joining our family in July,’ Becky captioned the post.

‘The first trimester consisted of couch surfing, power napping, toilet bowl hugging and face stuffing and was nothing short of horrible but feeling superb now.  We are all super excited and this pregnancy is flying.’

It was a dramatic week for the family, after Friday’s The Courier Mail published details of explosive documents which were tendered during the sentencing of ex-NRL star Matt Seers and ringleader John Touma earlier this month.

The extent of a cocaine ring at the heart of the NRL was laid bare in court, with documents claiming players were calling up dealers almost once a week for a fix.

Shamed stars used code words such as ‘bottle of wine’ for a single gram of cocaine and ‘football’ for 3.5 grams, the documents allege.

In just five months in February 2014 the athletes requested the drug to be delivered to them no less than 20 times, it is said.

On one occasion Greg Bird called the head of the cartel in the middle of the day for a fix, less than 48 hours after playing at Suncorp Stadium in a State of Origin loss.

Greg was later described by drug runner Adam Surplice as ‘blind’ [drunk] and an ‘imbecile’, according to papers seen by the Courier Mail.

The papers were submitted as part of sentencing for John Touma, alleged ringleader of the Gold Coast drug ring, and ex-NRL star Matt Seers, a drug runner for the group.

Matt Seers and John Touma received four years and nine years in jail respectively after they pleaded guilty to drug trafficking, in the Supreme Court on February 7.

Greg, who had charges of drug supply dropped, has been charged with receiving a ‘personal quantity’ of cocaine on July 11, 2014.
