London man charged with revenge porn over topless images

Julian Manea, 36, has been charged with revenge porn after allegedly showing topless pictures of his former partner to a friend

An ex-boyfriend threatened to use his ‘connections’ at Google to publish naked pictures of his former partner if she was not ‘nice’ to him, a court heard.

Julian Manea, 36, allegedly pestered the woman with Facebook posts, texts, WhatsApp messages and even turned up to her address brandishing naked photos to her flatmate.

Prosecutor Edward Cohen said: ‘The photographs were on the defendant’s phone and he showed two images of the complainant to her friend.

‘One was with her breasts exposed and one of her in a pair of knickers from behind.

‘It was a threat to disclose them – “If she’s nice to me I won’t do anything, if she’s not I will. I will f**k her up, I have friends in Google so I can have them distributed in Google”.

‘In May 2017 he posted an image of the complainant and himself kissing on his Facebook – targeting her so her whole family could see and her boyfriend.

‘In January 2017 he sent a message talking about her moving and that they should forgive each other – she told him to leave her alone.

‘In January 2018 he spoke to her flatmate and was told to leave and not to come back, after asking about her new boyfriend – then there were some further Facebook comments.’

Manea sent some 40 messages this month over Whatsapp after he was told to go away by the woman’s flatmate.

Magistrate Alexia Fetherstonhaugh adjourned the case for a trial and told Manea: ‘Do not call or text her or contact her on social media.

‘You do not get anyone else to contact her for you and if you happen to see her you must walk in the other direction.’

Manea, of Wandsworth, south west London, denies disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress.

He was released on bail on condition that he does not contact Ms Bisquert or to go to her address.

Manea will be tried at Hendon Magistrates’ Court on 17 April.
