Australian chair of the Truth, Justice and Healing Council Neville Owen has been appointed to the Pope’s revived commission into clergy sex abuse.
New members to the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors were announced on Saturday night AEDT by Pope Francis.
“There are few people, anywhere in the world, who have both a deep understanding of the Catholic Church and of the clerical child sexual abuse crisis which has had such an impact on it over the past decades,” TJHC chief executive Francis Sullivan said of Mr Owen’s appointment.
