Man stabbed in late-night Woolloomooloo attack

  • A man in his twenties was found in driveway suffering from multiple stab wounds
  • He was rushed to hospital in a critical condition, leaving pools of blood in street
  • Police set up a crime scene found a knife in nearby Harmer St in Woolloomooloo

A man has been stabbed multiple times just metres from one of Sydney’s most fashionable entertainment hotspots.

The man, in his 20s, was rushed to hospital after being found with stab wounds to his arm and leg in Woolloomooloo, east of Sydney’s central business district.

Officers from Kings Cross Police Area Command set up a crime scene after the man was found in the driveway of a home on Plunkett Street at 11:45pm on Sunday.

Police searched the surrounding area and found a knife in nearby Harmer Street, which was seized for forensic examination.

The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital in a critical condition. 

The stabbing occurred a short distance from the Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf area, home to some of Sydney’s most exclusive restaurants and boutique hotels.
