The pair met on set of Stranger Things, and confirmed their heavily rumoured romance with a red carpet appearance at the Fashion Awards in December.
The couple, who met on the set of the Netflix smash hit, play Jonathan and Nancy, who form an unlikely bond as the plot progresses.
Charlie however has endured a turbulent few months, after he was refused entry into the US in October when cocaine was detected on him at LAX.
The refusal to enter the States caused Charlie to miss the eagerly-anticipated premiere for the second season of Stranger Things.
With series three of the show being confirmed, it is unclear whether Charlie will be allowed to return to the States for future filming endeavours.
In a carefully worded statement, Heaton said he was working to ‘rectify’ the situation, which is said to have occurred after sniffer dogs detected the cocaine on his person.
‘My planned travel to the U.S. last week was affected by an issue at U.S. immigration, and I am working to rectify it as soon as possible,’ the 23-year-old told People magazine.
‘I do want to clarify that I was not arrested or charged with a crime, and cooperated fully with the U.S. officials at LAX.’
