Schizophrenic teenage ice user kidnapped schoolgirl

A self-proclaimed schizophrenic teenager who uses methamphetamine robbed a young school girl who was waiting at a bus stop near a police station. 

The victim was waiting to be picked up by her mother after getting off her school bus when ice user, Kylie Balawagaga, 18, made her attack.

The 18-year-old allegedly held a large 20 centimetre knife to the 16-year-old girl’s neck, dragging her along the footpath at Bass Hill, in Sydney’s west.

Balawagaga dragged the young girl into the police station and held her hostage after robbing her of her phone Tuesday afternoon.

The 18-year-old was ordered to drop the weapon before being arrested, 9 News reported. 

‘Other than a small graze to her leg from the fall, physically [the victim] is pretty good,’ NSW Acting Superintendent Bradley Thorne said.

Balawagaga was charged with several offences including armed robbery, kidnapping with the intent to commit serious indictable offence occasioning actual bodily harm and stalking. 

‘The motivations for the choice of the location and the actions will form part of the police investigation,’ Acting Supt Thorne said.

The 18-year-old asked not to be given bail and did not seemed phased by the reality of spending at least eight weeks behind bars, 9 News reported
