22-year-old died from stab wounds, 56-year-old charged

A 56-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a 22-year-old male who took himself to hospital in a taxi with stab wounds Wednesday night.   

Rey Quintanta was arrested from an apartment in Mueller Place, Tregear, in Sydney’s West, and transported to Nepean Hospital before being charged at Mount Druitt Police Station.

The 22-year-old died out the front of Mount Druitt hospital shortly before 5pm after suffering fatal stab wounds to his stomach and chest.

Police alleged the two men were known to each other and have appealed for witnesses or anyone with further information to come forward.

The 56-year-old was refused bail to appear at Mount Druitt Local Court Thursday morning.

Following his release from hospital, the older man was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where he was charged with murder.
