Emergency services were still at the scene of the Gold Coast crash at 7am.

The injuries suffered as a result of the collision are not expected to be life-threatening.

The smash closed eastbound lanes on the Gold Coast Highway.

The closure caused disruption to early morning rush-hour traffic.

Commuters were only affected for a short while however as the crash was cleared by 6.27am.

Queensland Traffic tweeted out that they were able to clear the debris from the crash and allow for flowing traffic on the busy highway.

Of the ten people taken to hospital following the crash in Rockhampton six women and four men suffered only minor injuries.
