A school teacher’s science demonstration took a turn an epic turn for the worst on Friday when instead of pulling off a nifty trick, he set the classroom on fire.
Students at Loyola College in Watsonia, north east of Melbourne, eagerly watched as their teacher took a match to an object placed on a desk lined with computers.
Footage, obtained by Nine News, then showed everyone taking a leap back as the teacher frantically tried to extinguish giant billowing flames by blowing on them.

In the lead-up to the teacher setting fire to the object, he can be heard saying, ‘We’ll see if we can actually get it to work’.
But anticipation quickly turned into panic, with children heard yelling and seen scrambling towards the door to escape the burning room.
Footage appeared to be shot from the device of an onlooker, and became shaken in the chaos of the growing fire.

The Melbourne Fire Brigade were called to the school to assist in putting out the fire.
The school confirmed to Daily Mail Australia it was investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident to ensure a recurrence would not occur.
No students or teachers were injured in the altercation, and the fire was extinguished soon after it started.
