The estranged partner of Nathan Lyon has questioned whether gaining weight led to the breakdown of her marriage to the Australian cricket star.
Mel Waring listed a number of factors which she thinks could have caused Lyon to start a relationship with Perth real estate agent, Emma McCarthy, revealed by Daily Mail Australia in December.
In the second post on her new blog, called Life of Lyons which launched on Friday, Ms Waring reveals how every time her two daughters cry for their dad it is ‘a dagger into my heart’.

After pictures of Lyon with Ms McCarthy surfaced, friends of his said he had been separated from the mother of his children for some time
She also pondered whether she could have done anything differently to keep her relationship with the spin bowler.
Ms Waring revealed there were days when she would not do her hair, could not be bothered to shave her legs and spoke of her regrets with questions she will ‘never get the answers to’.
Meanwhile, Ms McCarthy, Lyon’s new girlfriend, was pictured on Saturday carrying out life as normal at a house viewing in Perth.
Dressed in a black suit, clutching a box of files and holding her mobile phone, the blonde was seen walking back to her car after showing potential buyers around a home in the city.
Ms Waring has taken her thoughts in to her blog because she said she needed an outlet for her ‘grief, strength and confusion’.

She talks about her ‘journey into life as a single mother’ and thanked people for comments about how ‘strong I am and how amazingly I am coping’.
But in a candid post on Saturday, the mother-of-two girls said: ‘I appreciate those comments, but the truth is those people see the best of me.
‘They see the fake me, the part of me thats on show, the part that tells myself to smile even if its fake because eventually that fake smile will turn into the real thing and my pain will lessen.’

She says she wishes she could ‘go back in time and change things’ and do things differently because ‘a part of me died’.
‘This wasn’t the way my life was suppose to be,’ Ms Waring wrote. ‘He was my forever, he was my whole world. Until the very end I was 100% devoted to our life.
‘Every day I go through the same questions in my mind. Im still not sure what I ever did.
‘Why was I not enough? What did I ever do to him? Was it that I did to much or not enough? Is it because I put on weight? Because sometimes I really couldn’t be bothered shaving my legs or doing my hair?

Addressing the revelations in her first post, Ms Waring said: ‘In December of 2017 my world came falling down around me

‘Overnight I became a single mum to two children, overnight my world was rocked to its core and it changed forever.’
Lyon, who has achieved cult status from cricket fans as the best ever Australian off-spinner, is currently away playing for Australia in the Test series against South Africa.
In the first innings in Durban, Lyon took 3-50 as he helped Australia to a first innings lead of 189 runs as the hosts were skittled for 162.

Ms Waring said she had no idea about Lyon’s new relationship, despite friends of the cricketer’s claiming otherwise.
‘If anyone had asked me about my life at the start of last year, my answer would have been pretty simple. I was a 29-year-old woman, with two incredible little girls and an incredible partner who I endlessly loved and adored for nine years,’ she said.
‘For the past seven of those years, we have travelled around the world. I have supported him and his dream of playing professional cricket for his country, raising our two gorgeous children at home, in hotel rooms, and on tour.
‘Trying to make the most of our crazy, incredible life as a family unit of four.
‘Day two of the ashes with my babies… go daddy,’ Ms Waring wrote alongside this picture at The Gabba in November last year
‘A year ago, my life was perfect. Except as I was about to find out, it wasn’t.’
With her new blog, Ms Waring said she was ready to tell her side of the story, which captivated the nation.
‘I no longer feel like I need to or should be silenced in something that has been so public, hurtful and downright humiliating for me. I deserve to have a voice,’ she said.
When news broke of Lyon’s new relationship with Perth woman Emma McCarthy late last year, Ms Waring told Mail Online she knew nothing about it.

Despite her initial reaction of anger and shock, Ms Waring said she was not speaking out to ‘shame the person or people involved’.
‘It’s not a blog of hate or spite on them for the choices they made (karma will take care of that). This is about me and my personal journey, my truth,’ she said.
After pictures of Lyon with Ms McCarthy surfaced, friends of his said he had been separated from the mother of his children for some time.
A source close to the bowler insisted he had not done anything wrong and that his relationship with Ms Waring had run its course some time ago.
‘Nathan and Mel aren’t together, and have been separated for some time,’ the source said.
‘Nathan and Emma are in a committed relationship, Nathan is very much in love with Emma.

‘It is 100% not an affair, it’s an open and committed relationship and everyone is aware of it, but it is being kept private for the sake of Nathan’s kids.’
The source claimed the pair have been in a ‘loving and committed relationship for over a year’, and met at a time when Lyon ‘considered himself a single man’.
‘Mel is aware of it, but she is struggling to come to terms with it. Mel and Nathan were in a long term relationship but they were never married.
‘Nathan travels a lot but he is trying his best to be a good father and he doesn’t want his kids to be exposed to all of the media coverage of his new relationship.’
