NJ Transit passengers have been posting scary videos on social media of open doors on trains traveling at high speed.
In one video, filmed on January 5, several people are seen standing on a fairly crowded train with one side of the door open.
‘Hey NJ Transit maybe you should stop raising prices and delaying trains and fix doors that open while the train is moving full speed,’ tweeted commuter Jeremy Barretto, who was on a train from New York to New Jersey.

In a second video filmed on a NJ Transit train, a man is seen standing next to a door that is half open. The train was traveling at full speed
‘All the sudden the door just pops open. Full speed. No alarm, no conductors. Nothing,’ Barretto told Pix11. ‘NJ Transit did tweet back at me. Radio silence after that.’
In another incident that happened on February 2, a man is seen in a Twitter video standing next a door that is wide open as the train barrels down the tracks.
Twitter user Deluxe8686 shared the video on social media, writing in the caption: ‘Never good when that train door just randomly opens’.
A conductor manually closed the door after it was left open for about a minute, the Twitter user said in a follow-up post.
NJ Transit officials said from January 1 to February 7 there have been 11 cases of train doors opening when they weren’t supposed to but most happened while the train was not moving.
Each case is investigated, the company said, adding that winter weather has messed with the trains’ electrical components.

Responding to reports of the opening doors, a NJ Transit spokesman told DailyMail.com: ‘On the rare occasion this should occur while the train is in motion, crew members will immediately stop the train and report the matter to the Dispatcher and Mechanical representatives.
‘The train will be safely moved to the next station and cancelled; the door(s) will be manually locked out and protected by a crew member; or, customers will be moved to another car.
‘The train will only continue to its final destination if the issue is deemed to be a single-point failure whereby the door can be safely locked-out and protected by crew, or customers can be located to another car.
‘While causes of mechanical issues vary, all NJ TRANSIT trains have door indicators to alert the engineer and traction safety circuits to remove traction power.’
