Teenager, 19, has not been seen since snow storm three days ago

A 19-year-old woman has vanished after driving during the height of Storm Emma and the Beast from the East as the Met Office placed a red weather warning on the day she went missing.

Lucy Duncan, of Horton, Swansea, left home at 11.55am on Thursday, March 1, in her black 14-plate ‘Volkswagen Take up!’.

Concern is mounting for the young woman due to the heavy snow and treacherous driving conditions that occurred the day she went missing.

Lucy Duncan (pictured), of Horton, Swansea, left home at 11.55am on Thursday, March 1, in her black 14-plate ‘Volkswagen Take up!’

It is believed she set off on the Heads of the Valleys road and withdrew cash from Swansea HSBC around an hour later.

Then during the heavy snowfall, it is thought she travelled along the A465 through Hirwaun and Brynmawr.

The teenager’s car was last seen in the Hereford area at around 3pm on the same day.

The city had an amber weather warning of snow and ice, with Hereford highways at the time saying: ‘Although we have treated our priority network, minor untreated roads will have lots of snow and ice, as temperatures are forecast to stay well below freezing. Our advice is to and at home if you can.’

A friend of Lucy’s, Maggie Sue Fitzgibbons, wrote on Facebook: ‘This is completely unlike her. We need to find her.

‘With the weather, time is vital as she might be stranded and need emergency help.

‘Unfortunately we have no idea where she was heading or why. Her phone has died/been turned off do we have no means of contact.
