A projected first-round NFL pick from the University of Michigan may have his dreams stalled after he was diagnosed with a heart condition at the NFL combine.

22-year-old Maurice Hurst, the Wolverines’ star defensive lineman, will miss the remaining of Saturday’s scouting combine, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter tweeted out that the six-foot-two-inch NFL hopeful is expected to undergo additional testing.

Hurst – weighing in at a staggering 292lbs – is gauging the impact of the diagnosis and plans to be called to Indianapolis for an additional checkup.

One of the best interior defensive linemen last season, Hurst was supposed to meet with reporters in Indianpolis and also do his bench press test.

The man shares the same name as his father, a defensive back for the New England Patriots from 1989 to 1995.

And Hurst isn’t the first to have such a thing occur, either.

Utah’s defensive lineman Star Lotulelei had a similar diagnosis in 2013 but was later cleared for the combine.

He was later drafter in the first round for the Carolina Panthers.
