A toddler was very impressed with herself after sneezing out a piece of chewing gum that was wedged in her nostril.

Three-year-old, Makena, was captured by her father Joshua Kreager with the item stuck in her nose.

Luckily, the tot soon started to cough and eventually sneezed the sticky sweet out of her nostril.

The pair were at a gas station in North Carolina, when the amused father turned around to see his daughter poking at a piece of chewing gum in her nose.

Joshua, from Marysville, California, asked his little one: ‘Where is your gum?’.

Makena then started poking the item in question – unknowingly stuffing it further up her nostril – before her father sternly said: ‘Move your finger.’

The worried parent told her to blow the gum out of her nose but the little one struggled to do this, instead breathing in.

Joshua teased his daughter that it would be stuck up her nostril forever, but thankfully, the item became dislodged after causing the toddler to sneeze.

She held the gum in her hands like a trophy and said ‘my gum!’ as she grinned at her father, who howled with laughter.

The mischievous tot said ‘again’ and was about to put the food back up her nose before her parent shouted ‘No! Let me have that.’

Joshua said: ‘My daughter is definitely a very determined and fearless little girl but also a goof.

‘I just gave her a piece of gum, which was never a problem up to that point and when I checked on her I noticed it was gone.

‘My initial thought was that she swallowed it. Then, I saw just a peek of white in her nose.

‘I couldn’t have planned to capture the cuteness yet deviance of my daughter. I just stayed recording as I asked her questions.

‘She ended up sniffing the gum further up her sinus as she hadn’t quite figured out how to blow out through her nose yet. That’s what caused her to sneeze.’

Joshua said: ‘I don’t panic easy or right away in most situations. So, I was pretty calm while thinking about how I was going to get it out.’
