Jay-Z and Beyonce tour: Couple announce then retract On The Run 2

Jay-Z and Beyonce fans have been waiting for a follow-up to their On The Run Tour since 2014.

On Monday it appeared their prayers had been answered, if only for a minute, when information about an ‘On The Run 2’ Tour appeared on Facebook. The event page was for a concert set to take place Monday, July 30, 2018 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The page even featured a Ticketmaster link.

Ticketmaster’s website had a countdown to an alleged pre-sale event, set to take place on March 6, 2018. That has also been removed.

Rumors are swirling that Beyonce and Jay-Z may be heading out on the On The Run 2 Tour

The Facebook event appeared amid rumors that Jay-Z and Beyonce were hitting the road together. Rumors began swirling when fans in the United Kingdom noticed the landing page on Ticketmaster’s page for ‘Beyonce and Jay-Z tickets’ had changed.

The landing page was deleted after screenshots starting being shared on social media. Still, fans of the megawealthy power couple couldn’t help but get excited.

The couple recently collaborated on a video for Jay-Z’s Family Feud. The song appeared on Jay-Z’s 4:44, on which he rapped about cheating on his wife, Beyonce suffering a miscarriage, his infamous elevator feud with Solange Knowles and more.

Beyonce has not released new music since Lemonade came out on April 23, 2016. She performed music off the album on the Formation World Tour, which began on April 27, 2016 and ended on October 7, 2016.

Neither Jay-Z nor Beyonce has commented on the rumors. The tour has not yet appeared back on social media or Ticketmaster.

So what do we know so far about the alleged On The Run 2 Tour?

Tickets to the tour sold out within minutes. More dates were added, but many fans still missed out on seeing Jay-Z and Beyonce perform together in cities around the globe. They made close to $100 million (GBP) from the 20 North American citiesand two European cities they visited.
