Japanese invention claims to stop people from armpit sweat

Japan has given us some of the strangest inventions the world has ever seen, including selfie sticks, a case for your half-eaten bananas and the ‘boyfriend’ pillow.

And so it will come as no surprise that the latest creation to come out of the country is a miniature fan you attach to your shirt sleeve to prevent armpit sweat.

The wacky idea comes from the team at Thanko – who believe that those unfortunate stains under your arms should be a thing of the past – and all for a cool $39.99.

It is described as having a ‘small, whisper-quiet battery operated motor’ which is perfect for pit-cooling in even the most uncomfortable places – like public transport.

Interestingly, the average person can produce up to one litre of sweat, or as much as ten litres on particularly humid days.

The reason products like deodorant work is because they contain a substance called aluminium which blocks your sweat glands to prevent perspiration.

But even with deodorant most people will still produce enough sweat to form an awkward looking mark on their shirts on a hot day.
