Customers at a Melbourne ice creamery have narrowly escaped injury after a four-wheel drive ploughed through the front window as they waited for their sweet treat.
The Cold Rock franchise was left with a destroyed front window and caved in roof after a Mazda CX-5 crashed into the business at Rowville in the city’s south-east.
Store manager Emma Langhans was serving her first two customers for the day on Wednesday when the car somehow mounted the curb and drove through the window.

She told the Herald Sun of her shock at the sudden collision.
‘I heard this noise and thought something had fallen over. Then I started to see the roof cave in and the first thing I thought was earthquake,’ said Emma.
‘Then, all of sudden, I’ve got a car in my shop. I was completely numb and just couldn’t speak.’

Emma quickly moved her customers, a father and daughter, to the back of the store before help arrived.
The person behind the wheel of the vehicle was a 54-year-old woman who, despite being stuck in her car for 40 minutes, also escaped injury.
Coldrock Rowville said in a post on Facebook that although they are thankful no one was hurt in the incident, staff are ‘understandably very shaken’.
