A Sydney removalist failed to deliver furniture to at least three address in New South Wales as he accumulated $45,000 worth of goods and allegedly blackmailed residents a court has heard.
Dione Trevor Blisset, 40, faced the Penrith Local Court on Thursday after his arrest on Wednesday when residents at three addresses complained, the Daily Telegraph reported.
He was charged with ‘three counts of larceny’ as a bailee, having previously been convicted of ‘very similar’ offences, according to police.
He allegedly blackmailed residents by demanding more money before he released their contents back to them.
His defence lawyer Stephanie Fowler said Mr Blisset strongly denied the charges.

He is the director of Rise Transport and Logistics in Schofields, NSW.
He was denied bail due to his ‘recent’ history for fraud and ‘unacceptable risk’ to the community, Magistrate Stephen Corry told the court, according to the Daily Telegraph.
‘The offences are serious and part of the offending involves effectively attemption to extract from some of the people he was dealing with,’ he said.
The three victims lived at Panania, Dee Why and Glenmore Park in New South Wales.
Police believe more residents may still come forward as they continue to investigate.
