- A jay-walking kola has been filmed crossing a busy Adelaide road at night
- The brave marsupial risked all to take a stroll down the Sailsbury Highway
- Footage shows the fluffy animal tumbling before it makes it to safety
This is the bizarre moment a jay-walking koala has been caught on camera walking across a busy road.
The brave marsupial took a stroll down the Salisbury Highway, in Adelaide, causing several cars to stop and wait for it to move.
Drivers couldn’t believe their eyes as a koala risked all to cross the five-land highway at night time, 7News has reported.
This national icon took a casual stroll down the busy Salisbury Highway in Adelaide
The video shows the animal casually strolling through the traffic which is stopped at a red light.
After the lights turn green and the cars begin to move the koala realises he’s got to pick up the pace.
Luckily, there’s a break in the traffic as the marsupial sprints over the last three lanes.
As he almost reaches the safety of the other side the video shows him taking a tumble.
But this koala lives to see another day as he quickly picks himself up and keeps running.
This is not the first time the traffic of South Australia has shared the roads with a roaming marsupial.

After taking a small tumble the koala picks itself up and makes it to the other side
Last year an Adelaide women was late for work after she came across two of our national icons going toe to toe in the middle of the road.
She filmed the two brawlers as they threw punches and pulled at each others hair.
While koalas are not officially endangered there are only 2,000 to 8,000 koalas left in the wild.
