Harley Streeter, 39, was killed on March 2 after he was struck by a car driven by his girlfriend
A Michigan father-of-two has died after he was struck by a car police said was driven by his girlfriend.
Harley Streeter had just left work at Honee Bear Canning near Lawton for a lunch break when he was hit by a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze as he was crossing M-40 Road, MLive reports
The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened on March 2 around 12:44pm. Streeter, 39, was rushed to Bronson Methodist Hospital, where he died.
Police said Streeter’s girlfriend, 31-year-old Sarah Romeo, was driving at the time of the accident.
The sheriff’s department has not released details about the crash and have not said if they believe it was accidental or intentional.
Romeo is said to be cooperating with the investigation.
Streeter’s father, Clyde Streeter, described his son as fun-loving and caring.
‘I was really proud of Harley for his work ethic,’ he said.

According to the grieving father, Streeter’s younger sister died in 2001 and their mother died in 2007.
‘I’m just heartbroken now You’re not supposed to bury your kids but sometimes life doesn’t play by the rules,’ Clyde Streeter told the outlet.
The Lawton High School graduate was employed as an electrician at the time of his death. His father said he was at Honee Bear Canning working an inside wireman.

Clyde Streeter told MLive that he and his wife, Jenny, will now help care for his son’s two children, Charli, 11, and Wyatt, 8. Harley divorced from the children’s mother, but saw the kids on a regular basis.
‘Now I’m going to step up,’ Clyde Streeter said.
