Sophie Monk makes inappropriate remark about the #MeToo movement

She’s the blonde bombshell well-known for her numerous gaffes.

And Sophie Monk made a tone-deaf remark regarding the #MeToo movement on Friday as she prepared to make an appearance at Melbourne Fashion Festival.

The 37-year-old cracked the inappropriate joke as two female members of her glam team rubbed her legs with shimmer makeup prior to the GQ Menswear runway show.

The Bachelorette star was being attended to by makeup artist Karla Roccuzzo and her sister, hair stylist Gabrielle Roccuzzo.

The duo carefully applied shimmer to Sophie’s legs as she giggled and was filmed for her Instagram Story.

‘I feel a little bit violated,’ Sophie remarked during the glam session.

She continued the wisecrack and added: ‘Hashtag #MeToo, girls!’

Created by activist Tarana Burke, #MeToo was started to ‘encourage millions to speak out about sexual violence and harassment’, according to its official website.

The movement gained global attention after allegations of sexual assault and harassment by Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein dominated headlines.

Sophie has been known to make the occasional blunder throughout her high-profile career.

She once famously mistook Opposition Leader Bill Shorten for an actor on long-running soap Home and Away during a KIIS FM radio prank.

She also took to social media to poke fun at Channel Nine newsreaders Amber Sherlock and Julie Snook after their ‘JacketGate’ incident last year.
