Terry Lee Coursey, 37, from Jacksonville, Florida was arrested after getting into a fight with another mother at a children’s baseball game Friday

A teacher from Jacksonville, Florida was arrested Friday after getting into a fight with another mother at a children’s baseball game.

Terry Lee Coursey, a 37-year-old teacher from Clay High School in Green Cove Springs, was suspended following her arrest, News4Jax reported.

Coursey pleaded not guilty to a first-degree misdemeanor charge of simple battery according to online court records.

The incident occurred February 23 around 7 pm during a Little League practice at the Orange Park Athletic Association baseball fields on Fromhart Street.

Apparently Coursey criticized a mother for wearing ‘short shorts’ to the practice, according to the arrest report.

The victim said Coursey began attacking her and repeatedly punched her in the face before tackling her.

The victim had a cut on her right wrist, marks on her shoulder, elbow and chest, and there were also visible bruises on the her forearms. 

Coursey spoke to the police the next day about the incident, however the content of that conversation was not on her arrest report.

She has an arraignment hearing scheduled for March 12.
