Airport police find gun in bag, suspect rapper Juelz…

Airport police are searching for rapper Juelz Santana after a loaded gun was found in a carry-on bag containing his identification at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey on Friday evening. 

Santana reportedly took off running after agents noticed the .38-caliber handgun in the bag passing through an X-ray at a security checkpoint, a Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman said.

Authorities believe he might have fled the scene at Terminal C in a taxi. 

A law enforcement official said on Saturday that Port Authority Police Department detectives are searching for the 36-year-old New York City-born rapper, who lives in New Jersey. 

The official wasn’t authorized to discuss the investigation and spoke on condition of anonymity because no arrests have been made.

Representatives for Santana, who’s real name is LaRon James, haven’t returned a message seeking comment.

The rapper is best known as a member of the New York rap group The Diplomats.

It’s not the first time he gets in trouble with the law: in 2011 he was arrested at his New Jersey recording studio after being caught with 17 bags marijuana, a pair of loaded handguns and ammunition.
