Jake Quickenden reveals DOI celebs will attend his wedding

He was crowned Dancing On Ice champion on Sunday night, beating Max Evans and Brooke Vincent to the crown.

And a jubilant Jake Quickenden has revealed that his fellow celebrity ice dancers will be attending his upcoming wedding to his fiancée Danielle Fogarty, in a candid chat immediately after his victory.

The 29-year-old reality star, who forged a strong bromance with Love Islander and semi-finalist Kem Cetinay on the show, said he was grateful for the friendships he had made on the show.

He said: ‘I can only say thank you to everyone who voted and to the people I’ve competed against.

‘I can’t wait for my wedding, they’re all coming and it’s gonna be a right party.’

The former X Factor finalist also admitted he couldn’t get his head around his stunning victory, after wowing with Torvill and Dean’s Olympic gold medal winning routine Bolero. 

He said: ‘I’ve had such an amazing time on the show I can’t believe it I can’t get my head around it, I keep thinking I have to train in the morning, I probably will.’

Jake and Danielle have been together for more than three years, after meeting at the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! wrap party in 2014, after Jake was named runner-up on the series, with Danielle’s father Carl Fogarty winning the series.

Speaking of their first meeting, Jake laughed: ‘I saw a photo of her in the jungle and I said to Carl, ‘Blondie is a bit of me!’   

Proving to have now been accepted into the family, he added: ‘His words to me were just – stay away from my daughter!’    

Jake fell to the floor in jubilation after winning the ice dancing show saying: ‘I can’t get my head around it! I might not have to do any more reality shows now!’ when he spoke of his big win.

He also praised runner-up Brooke in his emotional final speech and chocked back tears to say: ‘Brooke is incredible as well she deserves to be proud of herself. She is unbelievable.’

Jake later took to Twitter to continue his shock over his win, tweeting: Thank you to every single person that voted and supported!! I can’t believe it honestly everyone did themselves proud!! Met some amazing people and learnt an amazing new skill!!! THANK YOU’   

Jake staggered the judges once again for his final performance, leading all four experts up on their feet as the star finished off the iconic finishing move. 

Jason called their routine a ‘beautiful homage’, while Chris – who originally received a perfect Olympic score with the Bolaro with partner Jayne-  said Jake ‘did us proud’.

Jayne agreed, giving the highest complement for Jake, as she described how Jake’s routine ‘had hints of the original’.
