Mother creates elaborate indoor glamping experience for her children with Kmart items

While sleepovers of yesteryear were a modest occasion filled with midnight feasts, lollies and staying up late under the covers, these days parents go to great lengths to ensure a good night is had by all.

Western Australian mother Tracy Ryan created an incredible DIY indoor glamping experience for thirteen children who stayed with her three children over the Easter long weekend.

‘The kids ate dinner around the little table, enjoyed a screening of Hop while they ate the cakes and goodies and couldn’t wait to sleep in the tents with all of the lights off and the fairy lights on.’

While her children slept in the teepees over the weekend, Tracy added that they ‘even slept in them last night they were that popular’.

Speaking about how she put her slumber party together, Tracy explained that it required a little DIY:

‘My eldest son helped me to make the teepee frames like the popular Kmart teepees, and I sewed on the material,’ Tracy said.

‘I then spent around $200 in Kmart on air beds, sheets, blankets, string lights, Easter bunting, flowers, Easter cake stands and Easter holders, bunny lights, a big wooden bunny, Easter eggs, biscuits and baskets.’

‘I had some of the stuff already that I could use which kept the price down.

‘Plus, I would usually hire that style of party out for $250, plus extra for the table set up,’ she added.

‘But I love styling parties and this was so easy to do.

‘My mind is always thinking “what can I use that for”.’
