The Bachelor’s Anna Heinrich as criminal lawyer

Nine News has obtained rare footage of The Bachelor 2013 winner Anna Heinrich working as a criminal lawyer.

Dressed in a white shirt, black skirt and coordinating blazer, the 31-year-old was filmed leaving Sydney’s Waverley Local Court on Wednesday.

Anna is defending British tourist Sam Oliver, who has pleaded not guilty to assaulting rugby sevens captain James Stannard.

Suitably dressed for court, Anna paired her outfit with a black shoulder bag. 

The Pantene ambassador styled her hair into a ponytail, and opted for a minimal makeup palette.

Anna declined to comment when approached by a Nine News reporter outside court.

Anna is the defence lawyer for British tourist Sam Oliver, 22, who has pleaded not guilty to assaulting rugby sevens captain James Stannard.

The alleged assault was said to have occurred at 3am on March 30 this year, outside of a kebab shop in Coogee, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. 

James, 35, was found unconscious and left with a fractured skull, after being punched in the head and falling onto the pavement.

The alleged assault resulted in James recovering in hospital and missing out on the Commonwealth Games.

A police spokesperson has alleged James was ‘seemingly having a nice conversation’ with his attacker, before being hit to the ground.

Officers also claimed that Sam, who resides in Coogee, ran ‘some distance’ following the alleged assault.

Ben was arrested by police and charged with recklessly causing bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He pleaded not guilty to both charges and declined to comment when leaving court.  

The case will continue in court on June 6.   

Anna became a household name after debuting on the 2013 season of dating franchise, The Bachelor Australia.
