England confirm home friendlies against Switzerland and United States

England will play home friendlies against Switzerland and United States later this year.

The Football Association said a venue for Switzerland’s September 11 visit had yet to be decided, with the USA match confirmed for Wembley on November 15.

The fixtures will complement England’s UEFA Nations League games against Spain and Croatia in September, October and November.

England will take on Switzerland for the first time since a Euro 2016 qualifier at Wembley

Switzerland’s most recent visit to England was for a Euro 2016 qualifier in September 2015, when goals from Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney secured a 2-0 win.

The Wembley encounter against the United States will be the first time the teams have met since the group stage of the 2010 World Cup.

Steven Gerrard scored the opening goal in South Africa before Clint Dempsey netted an equaliser following Rob Green’s goalkeeping howler.
