Convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby, 40, debuts stylish new wheels

The Australian convicted drug smuggler celebrated getting her Queensland driver’s licence back in March, after being imprisoned overseas for nine years.

And Schapelle Corby flaunted her new wheels on Thursday, standing tall alongside her white vehicle at Ozzy Tyres.

The 40-year-old cut a relaxed figure in a maroon polka-dot frock and flip flops as the company shared the snap.

‘The stunning Schapelle Corby standing proud with her new Hussla Spider 20 inch wheels. Positive vibes only please,’ the tyre shop captioned the image.

The former Kerobokan Prison W-Block inmate crossed her arms and styled her brunette hair in a scruffy chic updo.

One comment on the photo read: ‘Good to see her getting on with life, she’s a good hearted woman who has a lot to offer to society.’

In her first interview since returning to Australia, she spoke of feeling ‘independent’ again after getting her driver’s licence renewed.

She told Woman’s Day in March: ‘Yes! I’ve just got my licence back. If your driver’s licence has expired for more than five years in Queensland, then you have to do the written test and a driving test.

‘I just passed both! I’m so excited to have my independence.’

One of Bali’s most famous drug runners passed her provisional licence test in March after being on her learner’s licence following her release from jail.

She celebrated that fact by sharing a snap from behind the wheel of her ritzy new car.

Sporting a green floral dress, Schapelle raised her Queensland provisional licence up with glee, captioning the shot: ‘I got it. I passed!’

‘I’ve been home since May 2017, why has it taken me so long to get my licence?… well that’d be because I had a broken leg of cause,’ she explained.

Looking refreshed and jubilant in the snap, fans wrote: ”Good for you. Enjoy the freedom, you deserve it.’

But just like the three years of parole she had to spend in Indonesia before returning home, the drug-trafficker-turned-pop-icon isn’t completely free just yet.

Her P-plate restrictions mean she won’t be able to exceed 90 kilometres per hour, or use her mobile phone while driving – even when waiting at traffic lights.

It’s assumed Schapelle took her photo with her engine off, with her car parked out of the line of traffic.

Why so long? 'I've been home since May 2017, why has it taken me so long to get my licence?... well that'd be because I had a broken leg of cause,' she explained
