Temperatures could rocket to 82.4F (28C) today — making it the warmest April in nearly 70 years.
The hot weather is far surpassing the average maximum temperature for April, which sits at 53F (11.4C).
If the mercury rises above 82.4F (28C), the Met Office said it would beat the 2001 April high of 82.04F (27.8C). The warmest April day on record was recorded in 1949 at 85F (29.4C).
