Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been ruled out for the rest of Liverpool’s season and the 2018 World Cup with the injury sustained on Tuesday night.
The 24-year-old was carried off on a stretcher in the 17th minute of Liverpool’s 5-2 Champions League semi-final first leg victory over Roma following a collision with Aleksandar Kolarov.
Oxlade-Chamberlain looked in considerable pain as he lay on the Anfield turf and his manager Jurgen Klopp said after the game that it looked a ‘really bad injury.’
