Bayern Munich director Jan-Christian Dreesen has suffered a cardiac collapse before the German giants take on Real Madrid in their Champions League semi-final second leg.

The 50-year-old reportedly felt faint before the team’s morning training session at the Bernabeu, according to The Sun.

Club medic Roland Schmidt took Dreesen to a hospital in the Spanish capital where he was advised to return to Munich for further examination.

Reports suggest Jupp Heynckes’ players have not been informed of the situation in a bid to avoid distractions ahead of the match.

Dreesen joined the Bayern board in February 2013 and oversees the club’s finances, recently opting to stay until 2023.

In October 2017, Dreesen lost a finger after shooting himself during a hunting trip by accident.

The German champions must overturn a 2-1 deficit to reach the Champions League final

The German champions find themselves 2-1 down on aggregate after a disastrous first-leg defeat at the Allianz Arena last week.

Despite taking the lead through Joshua Kimmich, strikes from Marcelo and Marco Asensio gave the Spaniards two away goals and a precious lead.

Bayern must score at least twice if they are to upset the double defending champions and reach their first final in the competition since 2013.
