An imaginative driver has revealed his ingenious hack for replacing a tyre if a spare one isn’t available.
Although utterly quirky, the motorist devised a makeshift tyre using only Coke bottles and tape.
In footage uploaded to Russian YouTube channel Garage 54, a man is seen using 18 large coke bottles to replace his rear right tyre.
It’s not a hack however that should be relied on to save the day or get road users out of a tricky situation – the fix is only marginally temporary at best.
Wrapped around an alloy wheel, the bottles of fizzy drink are expected to hold the weight of the car while travelling forward.
In the clip, the driver accelerates straight ahead but within just moments the coke bottles disperse.

He tries again, this time using more tape before slowly edging the car forward and then backwards.
The car enthusiast however couldn’t resist putting the pedal to the floor and the touch of speed caused the temporary tyre to slide off the axle.
Despite failing past a point, the plastic tyre makes for an entertaining fix – even just for a few seconds.
