Two people have been poisoned with a suspicious white powder at an office in Madison Avenue.

The fire department was called to the 14th floor of 257 Madison Avenue, listed as holding the office of lawyer Aaron Schlossberg, who recently made headlines for a racist tirade directed at two people speaking Spanish to each other at a restaurant.

FDNY said responders were still on site, and while one person was being medically evaluated, nobody had been taken to hospital as of 4.45pm, Newsweek reported.

A spokesman for FDNY told DailyMail.com shortly afterwards the scene had been turned over to NYPD for investigation, and the two patients treated were symptom free.

A spokeswoman for NYPD told Dailymail.com they are investigating a ‘suspicious package with white powder’ in it, which two people came into contact with.

‘Right now we are doing everything out of precaution,’ she said.

‘We don’t know what the substance is, it’s going to be tested.’

Repeated calls to Aaron Schlossberg’s office have gone unanswered and no information on the two people affected is available.

Schlossberg was filmed yelling at two women working at Fresh Kitchen in Manhattan saying he would be calling Immigration and Customs Enforcement to have the workers ‘kicked out of my country’.

He also complained to another restaurant employee ‘it’s America’ and ‘staff should be speaking English.’

Video of the rant went viral, causing Schlossberg to make a grovelling apology on Twitter earlier this week.

More to come.
