The New York Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating an unidentified male who is suspected of a two-incident pattern of public lewdness.
A man was caught on surveillance footage in the first of two reported incidents appearing to be masturbating over his pants in front of another person while riding the subway.
The two incidents allegedly occurred on April 26 and May 17 aboard the northbound R line in Manhattan.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the NYPD.
The man pictured in photo and captured on Metropolitan Transportation Authority surveillance video has been described by authorities as a white male, approximately 50 years old, weighing about 170 pounds and standing 5-feet-9-inches tall.
It was reported to police that on April 26, the man shown here holding a Spiderman backpack engaged in an act of public lewdness.
Police said the unidentified male was reported to have sat across from a 24-year-old victim on the train and proceeded to masturbate as he stared at her, before fleeing.

The incident was said to have occurred at approximately 10.00pm Eastern on the northbound R train nearing the 53rd Street station.
During the first reported incident, the suspect was wearing a white shirt, tan pants, brown jacket, blue and white shoes and a brown hat.
A second, similar incident was reported involving the same unidentified man on May 17.
Police sad the unidentified man was reported again to have masturbated his penis over his pants in front of a 26-year-old female victim.
The incident was said to have occurred at approximately 2.00pm Eastern on the northbound R train again, this time at the Canal Street station.
The victim detrained at Prince Street, and the unidentified male remained aboard the train. The victim was not injured.
The April 26 incident occurred within the confines of the 72 Precinct. The May 17 incident occurred within the confines of Transit District 2 and the 5th Precinct.
