Prisoner, 30, still on the run after escaping from a Northern Territory jail

  • Brett Gregory Norris, 30, escaped from the Darwin Correction Centre Saturday
  • Norris was last seen wearing his prison attire, a yellow t-shirt, shorts and thongs 
  • He has a number of connections in the Darwin and Palmerston areas, police said 

An inmate has been on the run since Saturday night after he escaped from prison.

Brett Gregory Norris, 30, is understood to have absconded from the minimum section of the Darwin Correction Centre at Howard Springs in the Northern Territory.

Norris was last seen wearing his prison attire – which consists of a yellow T-shirt, grey or blue shorts and thongs.

Northern Territory Police released a statement about his escape on Sunday, notifying the public that he was missing.

‘The 30-year-old man appears to have left the facility around 8:00pm,’ police said over Facebook. 

He has a number of connections in the Darwin and Palmerston areas, police said.

Members of the public are advised not to approach Norris, but to report sightings of him immediately.  

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to call 131 444 or Crime Stoppers.
