A female school teacher has been stood down after it was alleged she hit several children. The teacher is accused of spitting, pinching, pushing, and slapping a number of students at Bass Hill Public School, in Sydney’s southwest, according to 9 News.
The 57-year-old teacher was arrested by police on Monday and charged with six counts of common assault.

Students and teachers were approached by media outside the school on Wednesday.
‘Sometimes she grabs the people that are badly behaved,’ a young student alleged to 9 news.
The teacher was arrested at a home in Sydney’s southwest, about 6.30 pm on Monday. The NSW Department of Education released a statement saying that the teacher has been stood down until the investigation is finalized.
‘Undertaken risk management and this person will not be teaching at schools pending the outcome of the matter,’ the statement read.
The teacher has been given conditional bail and will appear in court in June.
Hours before her arrest, detectives from the Bankstown Police Area Command were called to a primary school.

They spoke with a number of children aged eight to ten years old and interviewed members of staff before attending her home. A New South Wales Department of Education spokesperson said risk management has been undertaken.
‘This person will not be teaching at schools pending the outcome of the matter,’ the spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.
‘As this matter is before the courts the department is unable to provide further comment.’
