Woman and baby are stabbed in west London

  • The boy is in a critical condition and the woman’s injuries not life-threatening
  • Enquiries underway to trace a man who lived at the address where pair found 
  • Neighbours told to lock doors as police officers scour the streets for knifeman 

A manhunt was underway this morning after a double stabbing in west London left a one-year-old boy fighting for his life and a woman in her 30s hospitalised.

The two victims, who are believed to have known their attacker, were air-lifted to hospital after being found injured on the Oriel housing estate near Feltham.

Dozens of police descended on the scene however no arrests have been made. Officers said they were trying to trace a man known to have lived at the address the victims were found at.

Neighbours told how police ordered them to go inside and lock their doors as the drama unfolded at around 7:15pm last night.

Officers said they were called to the home after reports of concerns for the well-being of the occupants. The boy was this morning said to be in a critical condition, while the woman’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The Met said officers are now looking for a man who is known to live at the address and the three are believed to have been known to each other. No arrests have been made.

Police remained at the address overnight as investigators sealed off the crime scene.
