Scary footage has captured the moment teenage hoons cling to the roofs of cars while driving down suburban roads as their laughing friends film them.

Shocked social media users who came across the death-defying stunt, filmed in Adelaide’s north, sent the footage in to Nine News. 

South Australia police condemned the behaviour of the reckless passengers, warning that the passengers and driver in the video would be charged if found.

South Australian Motor Accident Commission community engagement manager Mathew Hanton said: ‘It’s only lucky that didn’t end in tragedy’.

Frustrated locals from Paralowie claim the behaviour is not uncommon in the area. 

One local said, ‘ it’s absolutely ludicrous’, while another said ‘it’s silly behaviour and dangerous’.
