Instagram is ordered to reveal the identity of mysterious troll ‘who runs S*** Ashy Bines Says

Ashy Bines’ best friend has claimed an Instagram troll page filled with insults about the fitness guru has cost her clothing label $630,000 worth of business.

Gretchen Vonlanthen, owner of Gretty Rose The Label, believes the page ‘Sh** Ashy Bines Says 3’ has caused irreparable damage to her brand, the Federal Court heard this week.

The page is one of several that allegedly defamed Ms Vonlanthen and her company, which Ms Bines owns a share in, between February 23 and mid-March, Gold Coast Bulletin reported.

In court Monday, Justice Roger Derrington made an order to The Hague Convention for California-based Instagram to pass on documents identifying the SABS3 owner.

The business owner claimed the page wrongly implied that she not only benefited from Ms Bines, but was also dumb, greedy, pretentious, a snob, a liar, and was ripping people off, according to court documents.

Anonymous account, ‘Jane Doe’, was sued for defamation by Ms Vonlanthen and her company on April 4, as well as four other women allegedly in charge of two Facebook groups and two Instagram accounts.

Under the The Hague Convention order, Instagram will have to hand over the real name, email address, phone number and IP address linked to the SABS3 account.

Justice Derrington agreed the company had ‘suffered significantly as a result of the social media attack upon them’ based on material presented in court.

He told Ms Vonlanthen’s lawyer, Samuel Barber, the comments made on the social media accounts were ‘appalling and vulgar’.

‘So this is what is called social media is it?’ Justice Derrington asked.

‘In its poorest form,’ Mr Barber said.
