Sophie Monk complains that cat gets more airtime than her

Sophie Monk is the host of Nine’s raunchy dating series Love Island Australia.

But in the show’s YouTube clip on Monday, the 38-year-old complained that the villa’s resident black cat gets more airtime than her.

‘He’s more famous than me!’ the former Bardot songstress told the contestants.

‘He’s more famous than me!’ Love Island Australia host Sophie Monk, 38, complained that the villa CAT gets more airtime than her

Joining the cast on the patio area of the luxurious Spanish villa, Sophie began: ‘Have you seen the cat around?’

The blonde beauty, who looked primped to perfection with her long locks in structured waves, continued: ‘He’s been in the show so much. He’s more famous than me.’

Sophie went on to joke: ‘I’m in the show less than the cat. No, that’s not a lie!’

The model was referring to one of two cats that has regularly made an appearance on the set of Love Island Australia since the premiere episode.

Since the show’s debut, Sophie has received criticism for her lack of involvement.

And during an interview with Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa earlier this month, evicted contestant Charlie Taylor did little to quieten the talk.

The 22-year-old rugby player told the radio hosts: ‘I’ve seen her twice in the last eight to nine days – in the first and last episode, I saw her.’

However Sophie later took to her Instagram account, insisting: ‘It’s not about me… I’m addicted to the show! But my job is to not get too involved.’

Love Island Australia continues Tuesday at 8.30pm on NineGo
