At his heaviest, he was five stone overweight.
But Chris Moyles has shed that excess bulk over the last few years; and he proved that he’s kept the weight off when he stepped out to join Jamie Oliver at the opening of his new restaurant on Thursday night.
The breakfast DJ struck a rather defiant pose with pal Jamie outside Piccadilly-based Barbecoa, and looked positively unrecognisable compared to his former self.
But just how did he achieve his dramatically different new-and-improved look?

Having built a career on early morning broadcasting, former Radio 1 DJ Chris has admitted that a lifestyle like that can play havoc with your health.
Dubbing it ‘the fat breakfast DJ stage’ in the past, Chris has now credits his weight loss with running and ditching junk food.
According to GoodToKnow, before his weight loss mission, Chris ate about 2,000 calories per day but the food he ate wasn’t exactly healthy.
He now eats the same amount of calories, but has swapped greasy pizza and fatty ice cream for fresh fruit and vegetables, along with grains like quinoa and oatmeal.
He’s also been doing cardio three times a week, plus using free weights to build lean muscle mass.

The 42-year-old, who now presents a show on Radio X, has always been open about his battle with weight, and his fitness goals.

The controversial DJ told Metro in 2015 that he was trying to focus on keeping the blubber at bay after his dramatic weight loss in 2014.
He explained: ‘I’m getting older. If I don’t keep fit I will be dead by the time I am 50.’
He’s also been working hard with personal trainers – and cutting down on his alcohol intake – telling the Mirror as far back as 2011: ‘I’ve got David Haye’s old trainer who kills me.
‘I’ve become obsessed [fitness]. And I watch what I eat now that I’ve had to learn to cook for myself and that takes up a lot of my time, especially if I’m not drinking, which I have been trying not to do lately.’
