Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins joke about their kids

They’re known as the nice guys of rock ‘n’ roll.

So it’s no surprise that Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins from the Foo Fighters say that their children make more mess backstage than they ever did.

Speaking to Australia’s 60 Minutes, Hawkins joked: ‘They trash the backstage much worse than we ever did.’

‘They have their own little cliques,’ he continued. ‘It’s funny. They have their own little world.’

Dave has three daughters, Harper, Ophelia and Violet.

The band are currently promoting their new album Concrete and Gold.

Dave and Taylor played a surprise show in Sydney earlier this month.

A few days later, they announced they’ll kick off 2018 with an Australian tour, with Alt-rock behemoths Weezer as support.

Speaking to news.com.au, front man Grohl, 48, revealed that after his breaking his leg during their last tour, the decision to get the band back together wasn’t easy.

‘I didn’t touch an instrument for months, I didn’t want to see a guitar. Eventually I started picking up the guitar and coming up with melodies,’ he said.

‘One of the things about getting the band together to work is once the wheels start rolling, it’s a f**king steamroller and it rolls over everything else in your life.’

He added: ‘So I am always a little worried about starting things up again knowing it’s gonna be another couple of years of that.’

The sessions resulted in the band’s forthcoming album Concrete and Gold, with songs from the record to be debuted for Australian fans in January.

Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne will all be graced with stadium performances starting January 20, while Tasmania missed out entirely.

It comes after Grohl, and drummer Taylor Hawkins, 45, along with his cover band Chevy Metal, played to 300 fans at the Oxford Art Factory last Tuesday.
