Rep. John Lewis has been hospitalized in Atlanta after falling ill on a flight, according to reports.
The politician and civil rights leader, 78, became sick on a flight to Atlanta on Saturday. He was expected to attend an event in the city on Saturday night, but did not make it to the event.
Details surrounding the incident on the plane were not immediately clear, but sources told WSB-TV that Lewis is recovering.
His team said in a statement that Lewis should be released on Sunday.
‘Rep. John Lewis is in the hospital tonight for routine observation. He’s resting comfortably,’ the statement read.
