Kristin Cavallari fans go wild over her VERY brutal advice about managing money in a marriage

Kristin Cavallari prompted a controversial debate online after she offered up some very brutal, but honest, advice about how to split money and manage finances in a marriage.

The 31-year-old former The Hills star is currently taking center stage in her own reality show on E! entitled Very Cavallari, which sees the cameras following her as she navigates being a business owner as well as life with her family.

And in a clip for an upcoming episode that was recently shared on YouTube, Kristin discusses her fortune with her husband Jay Cutler, explaining her future plans to grow and boost her Nashville-based fashion and lifestyle brand, Uncommon James.

The mother-of-three married former NFL quarterback Jay in 2011 before she started to grow her own brand, and was often seen supporting him at Chicago Bears games.

But now, the NFL star has taken a step away from football, focusing instead on life at home with his family, while Kristin dedicates herself to founding and expanding her own business, which led to the couple discussing what Kristin’s five-year-plan would be for her brand during a car trip.

The reality star mentioned how she would like to buy a place in Nashville close to her office so she could crash there after long days at work.

But Jay was not happy about this idea.

‘Wait, what. No, we’re not doing that,’ he said after she slyly suggested the new property.

‘Well I could just buy it with my money,’ Kristin mentioned, which was met with silence from her husband of five years.  ‘Oh, you don’t like that do you. A little independence.’

Her husband countered her idea with how their money has been divided since the pair first got married in June 2013.

‘You have your money, but then all of my money is our money,’ Jay said.

But Kristin gave back a brutal response to her husband about why she needs to have her own set of funds.

‘That’s how it should be, though,’ she said.  ‘The girl should have her own stash. No girl should have to stay in a relationship because a guy is supporting her.’

She went on to reassure her husband that she is with him for the right reasons, not because of the amount of money he’s made in the NFL.

Truthful: Kristin said she should have her own money separate from Jay so she isn’t reliant on his own fortune

‘I’m with you because I love you, not because I need you,’ she said.

The clip saw dozens of fans rallying behind Kristin for speaking up about women having independence in their relationships instead of relying on the partner.

‘Truth’ one fan expressed after watching the episode clip online while another said they also agreed with her because ‘it’s how my dad raised me to be’, and one commented: ‘Actually a good message for all women to retain some independence and your own money. You just never know!’

‘Well said…love her sassy side!’ another person chimed in, while one other commented: ‘I’ve been there and she is 100% correct. Independence is life.’

However some people commented that there was a double standard with men and women by Kristin not sharing her fortune with her husband.

‘BUT…no guy should be forced to stay with a girl because he can’t afford to leave because she’s taken all his money…Double standard,’ the commenter wrote after watching the clip.

The E! show Very Cavallari launched earlier this month and follows Kristin as she grows her business in Nashville, Tennessee.

Earlier this week, it was announced the show would be picked up for a second season and continue to follow Kristin as she navigated being a mother, wife and businesswoman.

The announcement means Kristin will be unable to join The Hill cast for the shows revival because it would conflict with Very Cavallari.
