Mairis Breidis and Yunier Dorticos sign up for cruiserweight edition of the World Boxing Super Series

Season one semi-finalists Mairis Breidis and Yunier Dorticos are among the eight fighters to sign up to the next cruiserweight edition of the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS).
Latvia’s Breidis tested eventual winner and undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk in a narrow defeat in the final four, where Cuban Dorticos was stopped by runner-up Murat Gassiev.
Breidis will first fight Noel Mikaelian of Germany, at the same quarter-final stage at which Dorticos meets Poland’s Mateusz Masternak.

Krzysztof Glowacki, also from Poland, and Russia’s Ruslan Fayfer join Breidis as the competition’s other two seeded fighters.
They respectively fight Russian Maksim Vlasov and Andrew Tabiti of America when it begins in October.
A bantamweight and light-welterweight competition will also be staged in the second season of the WBSS.
