Free-speech campaigner behind Sadiq Khan blimp denies being anti-Semitic

Sadiq Khan bikini blimp takes flight! 29ft balloon of scantily-clad London Mayor floats over parliament – as organiser is forced to deny being anti-Semitic

  • Organisers plan to launch the balloon to attack rising crime under Khan’s leadership
  • He allowed a similar style of blimp of Donald Trump to fly during his UK visit
  • Old tweets by blimp organiser Yanny Bruere criticised for being anti-Semitic
  • Bruere confirmed the account was his and denies comments were anti-Semitic

The free-speech campaigner behind the Sadiq Khan blimp that is due to fly over Parliament Square today has denied being anti-Semitic after old tweets were uncovered.

Yanny Bruere, 28, is the main organiser of the ‘Make London Safe’ protest, which will see a bikini clad blimp of Mayor Sadiq Khan fly over London for two hours today.

The tweets were apparently on an old Twitter account of Bruere’s with the handle @Yanny1112, according to Bellingcat

The account has now been deleted but screenshots of the content is being shared on social media and is being described as anti-Semitic.

In one exchange when responding to a tweet about Ken Livingstone he says: ‘speak out against the Jews at your peril.

‘You know who’s in control when you’re not allowed to speak about them.’

In another tweet said that ‘ISIS was created by Israel and USA.’

Speaking to TalkRadio he confirmed the account belonged to him but denied the comments were anti-Semitic.

The Sadiq Khan blimp has been flown in response to the Mayor allowing a Donald Trump balloon to fly during his visit to the UK.

Mr Khan appeared unbothered by the protest told ITV London: ‘If people want to spend their Saturday looking at me in a yellow bikini they’re welcome to do so, I don’t really think yellow’s my colour, though.’

A Crowdfunder page set up by Mr Bruere, who describes himself as a free speech advocate, said: ‘In light of the Donald Trump ‘Baby Trump’ balloon being allowed to fly over London during his visit to the UK, let’s get a ‘baby Khan’ one and see if FREE SPEECH applies to all and whether or not Mr Khan and the London assembly will also approve this.

‘Under Sadiq Khan, we have seen crime sky rocket to unprecedented levels. People in London don’t feel safe and they aren’t safe, 81 murders this year alone! Khan Out.

‘Any surplus money raised will be used for a continuing campaign to remove Sadiq Khan from office and also for defending free speech which is constantly under attack.’

It is understood that the balloon will fly over Parliament Square today from 9.30am to 11.30am.

A spokeswoman for the mayor said: ‘The City Hall ‘city operations’ team has spoken with the organisers of this balloon and given permission for them to use Parliament Square Garden.

‘As always, City Hall has been working in very close co-ordination with the Metropolitan Police and other key agencies to ensure this protest is able to be carried out in a safe and secure way.’
