The Bachelor’s Nick Cummins ‘spoke about marriage’ with Brittany Hockley before split

The wedding’s off! The Bachelor’s Nick Cummins ‘spoke about marriage’ with Brittany Hockley before their split… as he flees the country ahead of the finale

It has been rumoured that a proposal could be on the cards, after Nick Cummins teased a glimpse of a sparking ring in the season premiere.

But it looks like any hopes of a fairytale wedding are well and truly dashed, after it emerged the former Wallaby had split with the show’s winner shortly after filming.

According to Woman’s Day on Monday, Nick and his ‘winning’ contestant Brittany Hockley had talked about getting married and setting a date before things fell apart.

The debut episode on August 15 featured a montage of the season’s ‘big moments’,  including Nick holding a ring – possibly an engagement ring – from Larsen Jewellers.

Woman’s Day claimed the winning couple actually got engaged during the show and ‘had every intention of marrying and had been planning a wedding’.

Furthermore, Nick’s uncle Mike had apparently told the magazine before the break-up reports surfaced that his nephew was ‘getting married’.

Last month, a production source exclusively confirmed Nick’s split with the show’s winner to Daily Mail Australia.

It was later reported that ‘things fell apart soon after the series ended’.

An insider also claimed the former Wallaby ‘refused to “fake it” to appease the network’ and wasn’t interested in keeping up appearance for publicity purposes.

The ‘suitor’ and his new girlfriend typically embark on a 48-hour promotions blitz after the last rose ceremony – but the October 4 finale airdate coincides with Nick’s Kokoda Trail walk in Papua New Guinea.

It is widely rumoured that the sportsman is leaving the country to avoid the media scrutiny around his split.
