Phillip Schofield in HYSTERICS as This Morning viewers point out his questionable looking needle

Phillip Schofield was left in hysterics after holding a giant knitting needle on Tuesday’s instalment of This Morning.

The broadcaster, 56, was unaware of the hilarious gaffe during the knitwear section alongside Rochelle Humes, but finally clocked on when he heard sniggering around him.

Looking back at the clip, Phillip said: ‘Just to thank someone on Twitter. He sent me a tweet which I saw on my feed, saying “he moment when someone speak in your ear”.’

The former Saturdays star had been trying to present a link to the local weather forecast, but her pre-show jitters seemed to get the better of her, as she couldn’t get her words out correctly.

Rochelle nervously covered her mouth with her hands and laughed as she quickly noticed her mistake while saying: ‘But first it’s time to get your local… ooh. Weather forecast!’

As she stumbled over her line, it sounded like Rochelle accidentally said ‘f***’ and swore live on air, but fans were left baffled as they couldn’t hear her clearly.

Her co-host Phillip found the mishap rather amusing and pulled a comical face before laughing with Rochelle, with the pair quickly sweeping over the mistake and the weather broadcast kicking in.

Rochelle’s slip up didn’t go unnoticed and as the weather report began to roll, many viewers watching at home took to Twitter to try and determine what the beauty had said by mistake.

Many thought they heard Rochelle swear, with others claiming the expletive had been cruder than realised. One fan penned: ‘Did Rochelle just say it’s time to get your local butt f**k?! Certainly sounds like it!’

Rochelle – who will present this year’s BAFTAs British Academy Children’s Awards alongside her husband Marvin Humes for the first time at the end of November- has stepped in to replace Holly as Phil’s co-host on This Morning, while Holly is in Australia presenting the new series of I’m A Celebrity for ITV.

She was reportedly the number one choice to stand-in for Holly and will present This Morning for five weeks until Holly returns back to the UK.

Holly, meanwhile, will front I’m A Celebrity alongside Declan Donnelly. It will be the first series of the reality show not to be presented by Ant McPartlin, as he is taking an extended break from TV as he continues his recovery following treatment for alcohol and prescription drug addiction.

It’s believed the TV star is in for gruelling 12 hour days that include a 1.30am wake up call and a bed time of 6pm.

A TV source told The Sun Online: ‘Everyone thinks Holly has got the easiest job but in reality it’s actually a really full on gig. She will have to start her day at 1.30am to make sure she is at the camp by 2.30am, which is when the work really starts.

‘As with any TV shows, especially live ones, there are lots of meetings, rehearsals and script reading. Holly and Dec will watch back what happened overnight so they know exactly what is going on in the camp and with the celebrities.’

The source added: ‘Once the main show is done, they tend to film any extra or bits for the ITV2 show. By 9.30am it’s time to film the trial and this can go on until midday.’

As she prepares to jet out to Australia, Holly has nervously confessed that she thinks her new role will be a ‘disaster’.

She appeared in an interview alongside her This Morning co-host Phil on Good Morning Britain, where they spoke about the daytime’s show upcoming changes as Rochelle Humes will stand in for Holly while she is away.

Holly revealed that she had called Phil to ask him for his permission before taking the exciting I’m A Celeb opportunity.

He explained: ‘Holly phoned me up and said, “I’ve been offered this, what do you think?” and I said, “You have to take it!”‘

Holly added that she had ‘laughed’ over the phone, as Phil reminded her that she was heading to Australia where all her fears, like ‘flies’, are waiting to confront her.

Succumbing to her worries, Holly admitted: ‘It’s going to be a total disaster,’ before adding: ‘It’s going to be hard leaving Phil.’

Holly is planning to head Down Under with her family in two and will be joined by her husband Dan Baldwin and their three children; Harry, nine, Belle, seven, and Chester, four.

She revealed that she will be taking her brood out of school to join her overseas this month, meaning that her offspring could be missing up to a month of school as I’m A Celeb traditionally runs for three weeks.
